We at E-Peds UK Ltd, in association with our international partners, are able to provide a range of scooters which not only look great but are inexpensive to run and maintain! They run on highly efficient brushless 1200w/60v electric motors, and are incredibly easy to ride. They have a range of 35 miles* from a single charge and produce speeds of 40mph+**. E-Peds cannot be purchased outside our approved dealer locations as we have secured sole distribution rights for scooters utilising these superb quality, highly efficient electric motors. These have been patented and the creator of them has won national awards for the design and development of this innovative product. Our overseas partners maintain an ongoing research and development programme with recent investment in this area being in excess of £4 million.
E-Peds are great for commuting and are as at home on a University Campus as they are in a city centre avoiding traffic jams. Because they are powered by electricity, there are none of the emissions produced by their petrol counterparts and by comparison, are incredibly cheap to run with costs in most cases equating to approximately 50p per week based on average usage or the equivalent of around 1000mpg.
For registration purposes, E-Peds are treated in the same way as conventional scooters by the DVLA and can be ridden on a provisional license with CBT, full motorcycle license or full driving license if it has been held since before February 2001 . You are required to wear a motorcycle helmet and are strongly advised to wear protective clothing when riding your E-Ped. You will also be required to submit it for an MOT test once it is 3 years old.
